Autumn Construction Services was awarded the $478,700 mechanical equipment and piping subcontractor work for the Philip J Rock Center and School project. This building will serve as the new residence and school for the students attending Philip Rock. Philip Rock is the only publicly funded Residential School for students who are Deaf-Blind in the country. This is a new building where Path Construction is the single prime general contractor, and Autumn is working under MG Mechanical, the prime mechanical contractor.
The scope of work for Autumn includes the complete installation of hydronic piping and natural gas piping, along with the installation of RTUs, boilers, pumps, an expansion tank, air separator, unit heaters, and finned tube radiators. Autumn also furnished and installed a chemical pot feeder and a side-stream filter. Autumn has also installed a mini-split system with the accompanying refrigerant and condensate piping.
Autumn’s subcontractors include Luse Insulation, CEPro for testing and balancing, and Global Water Technology for chemical water treatment.
The project started in the summer of 2024 and is set to be completed by the start of spring 2026. Autumn looks forward to a successful partnership with Path Construction, MG Mechanical, and the Capital Development Board in delivering this project for the Illinois State Board of Education.
