Autumn Construction Services was awarded a $1,228,600.00 contract for the complete mechanical scope of work on the LUCHA-HPUMC Adaptive Reuse project. Autumn is a subcontractor to Crane Construction and Toro Construction, who have partnered as the joint venture prime general contractor for the project.

The project involves the renovation and adaptive reuse of the existing Humboldt Park United Methodist Church (HPUMC) and its attached apartment building. The current use includes a church sanctuary and 13 residential units. The sanctuary will be converted into 9 additional residential units and will include a new elevator and a dormer addition. The existing 13 units will be fully renovated, including kitchen and bathroom upgrades. Exterior improvements include masonry and siding repairs, full window replacement, and roof replacement.

The mechanical scope of work includes the installation of six (6) VRF systems, along with associated refrigerant piping and condensate drain piping. Autumn will also install a limited amount of natural gas piping to serve two (2) domestic hot water heaters.

Throughout the project, Autumn will coordinate with multiple trade subcontractors, including HVAC ventilation ductwork, low-voltage electrical, pipe insulation, and concrete coring contractors.

Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2026 and be completed in summer 2026. Autumn is excited to be part of a project that will bring additional affordable housing to the community and looks forward to a successful partnership with LUCHA and the Crane Construction/Toro Construction joint venture.
